Wedding Ceremony Guide

The recommendations on this page are merely suggestions. If you know you want a specific song that is not listed in this wedding guide or Robin's other repertoire lists, don't hesitate to request it and she will do her very best to make it happen. If you are unsure of the music you want, and many people are, this is where Robin can help you.  You and she can work closely to draw upon her countless ceremony experiences to guide you.  Her goal is to make your wedding ceremony easy, stress free, unique and perfect.

Prelude Music

Prelude music will create your guests' first impressions as they arrive. It typically begins between fifteen and thirty minutes prior to the actual beginning of your ceremony.  Almost anything is appropriate here, depending on the mood you want to convey. You may request one or more specific songs, request certain styles of music, or simply leave it to Robin's discretion.  For example, you may want to request all classical music, a mixture of popular and classical, or even Disney songs (for a theme wedding).  Selections for prelude music may be made from any of Robin's general Repertoire and Wedding Guide lists.

Processional Music

The processional marks the beginning of the ceremony itself and accompanies the arrival and placement of you and your wedding party.  It usually consists of at least two pieces.  The number and length of processional pieces will be determined by several factors, such as the number of attendants and the length of the aisle.  See Recommendations for Processional Music below.

Ceremony Music

There are often rituals during the ceremony that benefit from some musical background. Lighting of a unity candle, presentation of flowers to the mothers of the couple, and a silent prayer or meditation are some examples. Often the couple just wants a special song in the middle to add to the atmosphere. Keep in mind that song lengths can be customized to fit the timing of your ceremony.  See Recommendations for Ceremony Music below.

Recessional Music

The recessional is the completion of your wedding ceremony. Choose a lively piece of music to accompany you and your attendants as you exit. I usually play until all or most of your guests have left. If you have many people at the wedding, or are staying in the room for a reception line, more than one piece will be performed.  See Recommendations for Recessional Music below.
